<P>Glad this was brought up as I tend to agree, at least in principle, with the
points that have been addressed below. Being a fairly new member to RDXA I was
sorta reluctant to say anything. What was that cliche phrase "its all good"?</P>
<P>But over the course of the last year or so, I'd bet that at
best, 50% of the posts on this reflector had anything to do with DX or
contests. </P>
<P>Unusual for a DX and contest club.</P>
<P>And while I really don't diffrentiate(much) between domestic and DX
contests, my primary interest is also DX'ing and DX contests. So anything to
promote these endeavors is of interest, be it. Antenna's, air-cannons, skimmer,
amps, logging/modeling software, etc., I'm all for it. And since it
appears I'm not alone in this train of thought, perhaps thats where the club's
emphasis should lie. And while also of interest, but not pertinent, leave JOTA,
qrp, why W1TY should be written into the 'Last Man Standing' script, etc. etc.
to other forumns.</P>
<P>Final Thought: I've never been in a chat room, but would one work for us?
Maybe even at some point a, enter RDXA-CHAT button for members on the
website. That way, members could log on and post/read posts at they're
leisure, while not being tied to a QSO and if the topic trends off, hey no big
deal. But all the while maintaining a focus on DX spots or
a running post contest soapbox, what was your coolest mult?, hear
anything you couldnt work?,etc..</P>
<P> </P>
<P>Still and all a great club, can't tell you the number of times I've thought
to myself. In a sureal way, sure would have been cool to been in high
school with these guy's/gal's. Out stringing wire somewhere late at night,
instead of,...hey maan Zepplin's at the midnight movie, wanna go see em
again? got any money?...hihi</P>
<P>Yes, I am all for keeping the DX in RDXA,....there it is... </P>

<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN
style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Arial','sans-serif'; FONT-SIZE: 10pt">I continue to be
disappointed in the club's focus. With less than two months until the ARRL
DX contests. it seems as though our focus is already going to be on six
months away - Field Day. And then it will be SS and then NYQP. My
observation is that over the years the club has morphed from a DX club to a
domestic contest club and I may now be in a minority of the membership more
interested in DX and not so much in just high numbers of stateside
Q's. </SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal> </P>
<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN
style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Arial','sans-serif'; FONT-SIZE: 10pt">I have nothing
against the stateside contests, it's just that that is not where my primary
interests lie. I'm afraid that at this point it would be useless to pole the
membership since for sure there is a strong, vocal, group focused on Field
Day/SS/NYQP activity which would dominate. Perhaps realistically we
(I) should just acknowledge the fact that we are just a contest club and
that one of the contest areas that we are interested in might be the
various DX contests. </SPAN></P>

<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN
