How about others commenting before we make a move ?

I think we all put this before the BOD before we went to MicGinny's in the
first place.

Let the BOD get comments and the leadership of the club make the decision?

Otherwise we will get 20 people wanting to go to 20 different places.

Hello All,

This past Friday's gathering at MicGinny's was absolutely

disgusting. Just four of us, and we had to tolerate a very

noisy group of 20-25 in the main area. The acoustics are

horrible and in order to have simple conversations at our

table, we actually had to shout at each other. Also, it was

quite chilly in our wing that has windows on 3 sides and

no heat. It was unanimous to proceed to another potential

pub for the weekly get-together.

I happened to stop at another place earlier in the day. It's

a tavern where my monthly retirees' luncheon takes place

on the second Thursday. Good timing...I stopped again on

my way home and chatted with some of the help. Today, I

had a friendly telephone conversation with the owner.

So, here's the plan: After 42 Fridays at MicGinny's (plus

one at MacGregor's on Jefferson Road), we will check out

another pub this coming Friday. It's the Boulevard Grill at

412 Empire Blvd., less than 600 feet west of the NY 590

expressway. They are on the north side of Empire directly

opposite the Laurelton Fire Dept. If the parking lot appears

full, there's plenty of room in a plaza just a few feet further

west. Inside, we will be located towards the back where

there are walls on three sides. Nice atmosphere and fairly

quiet. Arrival time 3:30 PM. Am hoping we can draw at

least a dozen to check out this east side pub before making

a permanent decision. I recall a half dozen RDXA'ers did

stop there after some event on the east side one night,

about 2 years ago. Not sure when.

Any questions? I'll be posting the details again for all three

clubs on Thursday morning. Hopefully we will draw a decent

turn-out so a positive or negative decision can be achieved

upon testing this new venue.

                  Thanks and 73, Irv ~ AF2K
