Oh yeh,
Not to mention several snake skins on the floor around the computer, left behind when they shed !!
They must like the warmth of the computer in the winter time.
I don’t worry about snakes, they keep the mice population down !
No snake skins inside but lots of dust & dust balls, and I vacuumed and blew it out every year.

Gentlemen, I believe the "Bad Cap" syndrome stemed from purchase of a bad lot of Caps from our "friends" in China.
This may be indicative of an incidious plan to rid our nation of its discreet electronic component infrastructure as well as our pets.

They should put Jiffy-Pop kernels in each cap so you'd have an auditory warning AND a snack while investigating CPU failure.

Just had a computer go “poopy pants” here the other day… 
This is the ninth computer I have had this happen to here at work…. The dreaded “bad cap” issue that plagued Dell, IBM and others that still rears its head today.  This was a Dell Optiplex, circa 2003 (Pentium 4, running XP) If your old computer just locks up or wont boot, look at the caps on the mother board.  If they look like this, time to buy a new one. (if it wasn’t already)  
Also, if you neglect your PC like most people, you might want to blow out the power supply twice a year (like when changing smoke detector batteries!)  I take mine to the garage and hit it with the air compressor.  If you have pets, its mandatory or the supply or computer WILL overheat from dust/dander and shut off.  This is especially important if you leave your PC on all the time, which I don’t recommend any longer…. Sometimes you have to, but…..

Geez guys & gals, it has to be operator problems.
I went to camp, with a newly purchased refurbished computer and no ham radio software installed.
On Friday, I took the old computer offline (running XP, put the new one on, running Windows 7 Professional, configured all the ports, installed all new software, including N1MM and it all worked flawlessly.
Then again, I am an experienced user of the program, and know a little bit about software, com ports, and setting up equipment and peripherals’.
Also, that is why I ‘REPLACED” the old computer, before it got the “POOPY PANTS” syndrome.
A lot of us use old computers, usually discarded from someone else (why do you think they got rid of it in the first place?)
I stopped doing that.
Then we have these LOCK UP problems. Whenever I get a lock-up problem, I get a computer GURU to check it out, and if they cannot fix it,
It gets replaced.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Anyone want my old computer, I can guarantee you it is very slow, and has been on continuously (except for power failures) for the last 14 years.
It’s yours, no guarantees, (why do you think I changed it out in the first place?)

I see that I'm not the only one with N1MM problems this weekend.
Everytime I hit the Tab key, the program would lock up. A couple of times the computer locked up.
I was so frustrated with the whole operation that I shut off both the computer and the radio.
I forgot that I could log using my pencil, so no log this year.
