The difference between CW and RTTY.
CW Ops do not need a computer and lots of expensive equipment and peripherals (Cost = hundreds to thousands of dollars) to TUNE in a station, CW Ops use the computer that is built in. (The one between their ears). Cost = $0.00
SSB Ops can do the same thing.
Getting on and copying CW is as easy as turning on the rig and tuning thru the band, we decode each station immediately without hesitation or tuning in the station on a scope. If we hear a station, we copy it, we don’t need to tune it in to a certain TONE, (SSB Ops need to do a little tuning so the station doesn’t sound like a duck talking). If we want, we can go OLD SCHOOL and log on PAPER, right then and there. The cost of a piece of paper and a pencil.
Ricky, you really left yourself open for a spanking on this one !!
p.s. Now I am not saying that CW Ops don’t have all that expensive stuff, or use computers, but to COPY CW, 99.99% of CW and 100% of SSB operators do not use a MORSE CODE DECODER, (DEMODULATOR) we use our BRAIN !!
Therefore the book title is correct “RTTY FOR DUMMIES”

I was at the library and found a book, "RTTY For Dummies". Turned out to be a tutorial on CW.
Spank me!
